Editorial policy

Modern Athlete Network aims to publish clear, fair and carefully framed work about athletes’ lives beyond competition. We distinguish what is known from what is interpretation and correct the record when we get something wrong.

Accuracy and care

We check factual claims against reliable material available to us and take care with names, context and quotations. We do not present speculation about a person’s private life as fact. Where an article discusses individual experience, we make clear that one account cannot stand for everyone.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers and fit with the publication’s subject. A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage, control over editorial conclusions or an undisclosed mention.

Corrections

Readers can use the Contact page to identify a possible error, including the article title and the detail in question. We assess correction requests and update material where warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.

Partner and sponsored material

Paid or partner-supported material is labelled clearly where it appears so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. These arrangements do not change our standards for accuracy or the separation of commercial and editorial decisions.

Our point of view

An athlete is never only a result.

Sport may be the visible part of a life, but it is not the whole of one. We make room for the quieter roles, interests and changes that deserve attention too.
